At pearl city we believe genuine fellowship isn’t practical in a crowd of 500 or 2,000. That’s why we feel strongly that life groups are the place where we can develop relationships, where we can “know and be known.”
What is fellowship as defined in the New Testament? Just this: participating together in the life and truth made possible by the Holy Spirit through our union with Christ. Fellowship is sharing something in common on the deepest possible level of human relationship—our experience of God himself. The word “fellowship,” as it is found in the English Bible, is a translation of the Greek word koinonia. It translates koinonia as “fellowship,” but also as “participation,” and “sharing. ”
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers (Ac 2:42).
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy... (Php 2:1).
...and I pray that the sharing of your faith may promote the knowledge of all the good that is ours in Christ (Phm 1:6).

What is a Life group?
We do life groups at Pearl City because we want everyone to stay connected with God and fellow believers. Life groups are opportunities that make genuine fellowship happen.
Life Groups are made up of 4-10 people meeting regularly for the purpose of (1) gaining a deeper and more clearer understanding of who God is, (2) finding your value and place in Gods great scheme. (3) And encouraging one another to grow more in the faith journey.
Every life group happens in the context of a growing fellowship with God and the people of the group.
What can I expect?
Every Life group is a little different and unique, but in general group meetings consist of a meet and greet time where everyone, with coffee/coke/snack in hand, shares their experiences. The group prays for one another, and then they join into a relevant discussion based on a passage from the Bible.
It usually ends with everyone hanging out over a great snack and another cup of coffee/tea/ coke. Most groups also do occasional service projects, movie screenings, play games, celebrate birthdays, parties and do social outings. In one statement: Expect to make new friends!
